What? Solo Music Fest. is a not-for-profit online music festival dedicated to the furthering of creative music and the uplift of the many musicians within this community. Why? Despite consisting of some of the greatest musicians alive, the U.S creative music (jazz) scene has existed in a reality where there has been little to no institutional support for decades. In this environment most musicians have lived a “gig to gig” lifestyle, with few to no opportunities to built wealth, save, or adequately invest for their retirements or a “rainy day”. And, this was all before the Corona virus. The corona virus, and the unprecedented measures currently being undertaken to avoid its spread, are having a devastating effect on the entire economy, which includes the music industry.
